Future in Mind is a new two year project which aims to provide mental health related support and training for voluntary and community groups, and organisations and clubs working with young people between 5 and 18 years old.
CVP are one of four delivery partners across the North Derbyshire and Hardwick Clinical Commissioning areas, and will ensure that this support is provided to the relevant groups throughout the Bolsover District.
CVP will identify and contact the groups and organisations that they know of and work with, and will encourage the group leaders and / or their volunteers to attend a free three hour introductory Mental Health Awareness Workshop to increase their knowledge and understanding of the mental health issues that young people face. This will enable them to identify the signs of deteriorating mental health in young people, and then be in a position to offer them their guidance and support.
The aim is to also recruit mental health champions/pro-social buddies within these groups, and to offer them further training and support through quarterly forum meetings where they can share good practice and issues and concerns at a general level.
CVP would like to hear from you if your group enables 5 – 18 year olds to:
- Take part in regular positive social activities with peers
- Be a valued member of a group or team
- Be physically active
- Develop a skill
- Follow and enjoy an interest
- Play an active part in their community
If you would like to know more about this project or feel that your group or organisation qualifies for this support, please either phone 01623 749730 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
