The New Bolsover Model Village Regeneration Project will focus on carrying out essential repairs, restoring original architectural features (including windows) and where appropriate providing additional thermal insulation to 194 properties. The project has been funded by approximately £8million from Bolsover District Council’s Housing Revenue Account, £1.9 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund and £40k from Derbyshire County Council. It is also being supported by CVP, Derbyshire County Council Public Health, Coalfields Regeneration Trust and Friends of New Bolsover.
In relation to the New Bolsover Model Village Regeneration Project, CVP sees its role as:
- Building individual capacity through the provision/facilitation of training, volunteering, community action and activity, building local skills, confidence and knowledge and ensuring community representation and voice in shaping, managing and delivering the New Bolsover Model Village Regeneration Project and in influencing external decision making
- Building community capacity through the provision/facilitation of group training, networks and forums, supporting the creation and development of new community groups/social enterprises and ensuring community sector voice and influence in shaping, managing, delivering and sustaining the New Bolsover Model Village Regeneration Project and in influencing external decision making
- Building sustainability beyond the programme’s lifetime through working with and supporting the community in securing and developing a sustainable asset and resource base (including skills, knowledge, capacity, confidence, aspirations, physical assets, financial assets and structural assets (e.g. Community/Development Trust), building community cohesion by strengthening community links across New Bolsover Model Village and, further afield, with Carr Vale and the wider Bolsover Town communities.
